I've been a vewwwy bad blogger :o(

Well, I have! You can't argue with me there!

I thought I would show you how cool my other son is too. He's a freshman in high school and just finished his basketball season on the "C" team. They gave us a cd of pictures at the banquet last week :o) Evan is the one with the ball.

And I promise to be better at my blogging...

No Dear Kathi...I haven't fallen off...yet... ;o)

So, my friend Kathi is wondering what has happened to me. Weeeellll...it's like this...basically, I need moola, yep, that's it...deniro.

I posted about 10,000 things on my site and have to add paypal buttons tomorrow. I want to be able to send out my mass emailing on Friday. I've tried to make everything really affordable, so I hope to move a lot of it.

Then...I'm trying to get some unique things together to submit to a few juried competitions...and that ain't an easy thing. Gotsta take pics, send paperwork, fees, etc. all are due within the next week or so.

And last, but not least...I had put together another article for Bead and Button on tesselation tiles or kaleidoscope tiles...whatever ya wanna call em. The whole thing has to be done over because no fingers can be showing on the pics and all must be done on a white background. So my article got pushed out to the December issue instead of the August issue :o(

So, my dear friend Kathi...thanks for checking up on me. I haven't fallen off yet, but I'm hanging on for dear life ;o)

Kato translucent and foils

So this week I got Emma's foils in the mail...the first mailing that is...that took almost a month to get here. Sweetie that she is, she sent me another batch which will be here in...oh, probably another month ;o)

Anyway, these are not made with Emma's foils. I need to work with them a little more to figure out how to get the holographic effect to show better in swirls. In the first ones I tried, the foils look just sort of silvery.

these are made with Kato trans, which I think has almost a watery look when sanded with 600x and buffed. They feel a little bit smoother than premo. One thing I do know for sure...kato scrap does not swirl well...but it does do really well for other bead shapes as it keeps it's shape really well.

Oh, and one last thing...Pat, you will get a focal with foil, but maybe not Emma's...that's okay I hope? And i also owe a bead to Miss Jana, who sent me some awesome earrings (which I will post a pic of too) Umm and dear Fae...I have not forgotten you. I'm holding on to a bunch of those tesselation pieces to see if one or two might make it into SJ's book. After I find out, I can decide what I will send you... :o)

good news and bad news

well, let's just put it this way...the good news is great and the bad news isn't really all that bad.

son, Danny who graduates this year went to a pre-season track meet today and qualified for state in the javelin and the 200meter. Yay! And to make it a really nice day for him, while he was at the track meet, we received a letter in the mail from UNM to notify us that he received a UNM Scholars award of almost $5K, which he will be awarded every year as long as he keeps a 3.0 grade average. His average at high school is 3.8. I don't usually brag publicly about my kids, but had to just this once :o) So, he's says he's much to tired from the track meet to be excited about the award...

If he knew I was putting pics of him on my blog, I'd be dead meat, so don't tell ;o)

Oh, and the bad news is, is that after 6+ years, the ole pasta machine may have to be taken apart and cleaned. The younger boy says he will tackle it as long as I forgive a $20 debt. I said..."deal, as long as it works right after you fix it." I'll let you know how he does *g*

That's my news for today, hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

To Bead True Blue

surfing around today for bead shows...here is the one that I was invited to exhibit at in February, but couldn't afford and also didn't have the inventory (To Bead True Blue).

It's weird...do some of the pics look like they have "fake" people inserted? ...see what you think.

question

Dang...who thinks Patrick Dempsey is hot? Sorry, just had to ask :o)

I so hate this time of year

Yep, you guessed it...taxes. I'm happy to say that most everything is organized and computed...blech...so, hopefully I'll be back to my clay table tomorrow. And also I'm expecting something from a special swap pal in a few days, so I'll be sure to show ya'll. Boy, lately it's been like Christmas around here...except for the taxes of course ;o)
